Our Aestheticians
A native to Nashville, Tara Schaffer went to Jon Nave University, graduating in aesthetics in June of 2000. Tara’s career path suited her interests because of her connection with other people and her ability to relate and understand their concerns. While setting herself apart by building a relationship of trust with her patients, she started her career with a widely advertised skin care facility specializing in a variety of clinical procedures that included microdermabrasion and chemical peels. Wishing to pursue new advancements in the growing skin care industry and preferring a medically sensible environment offering much more professional freedom to tailor aesthetic treatments specific to clients needs, she joined Latour Skin Care Center.
Our second aesthetician, Sunny Birdsong, is also a Tennessee native. The power of touch has definitely played a major role in her life and career choices. Sunny began her career in 1999 as a licensed massage therapist. She made her way into our practice in 2001, filling the need to promote a more relaxed way of life for our clients. Exposed to the versatile skin care industry and medical side of aesthetics, she received her license in 2002 at New Directions. She is still using the same care and sensitivity that she applied in massage but now is using it to treat teens and adults with acne.
Working closely with our board-certified dermatologists enables Tara and Sunny to blend their skills and address both cosmetic and clinical concerns at the highest level of competency. They continue to educate themselves in the newest technologies to help clients achieve healthier skin and a better skin care experience, preferring methods and products known to be of the highest quality and effectiveness.
